Travelling to La Sablière

By car

The closest port is St Malo, 4:45 hrs drive away. Brittany Ferries run overnight ferries from Portsmouth. Calais (Eurotunnel and ferry) and Dunkerque (ferry) are both around 8 hours drive away. There are also ferries from Portsmouth to Caen (5:30 hrs drive away), Le Harve (6 hours drive), and Cherbourg (summer only) (6:15 hrs drive).Other ferries from Newhaven-Dieppe (6 hours drive away), Poole-Cherbourg and Plymouth-Roscoff (6 hours drive)


There are four airports locally - Bordeaux (55 mins drive away), La Rochelle (1:15 hr), Bergerac (1:35 hr), Limoges (2 hours). By train

La Sablière is 1 hour’s drive from both Bordeaux Saint-Jean and Angoulême stations. There is a direct TGV from Paris (Gare Montparnasse) which takes just over 2 hours.There is car hire at Gare de Bordeaux Saint-Jean and Bordeaux centre. You can also take a train to Montendre (about 7 km away) but please remember we are in the middle of the countryside and realistically you will need a car.
